Scriptural Studies

Today’s Bible teachers often tell us that law observance in the New Covenant (New Testament, NT) has been cancelled or destroyed.  But Matthew 5:17 says the opposite (see Bible passage above). Law in Hebrew is called Torah (i.e. instruction).  Yahweh’s Law is His WORD made perfect. YAHSHUA ‘fulfilled’ or perfected or magnified the Law.  The word “fulfilled” in Matt. 5:17 is understood from the context of ‘magnified’ or to make perfect as revealed by prophet Isaiah.  It does not mean destroycancel or remove as erroneously taught today.  The Law was corrected and perfected for us to obey all the truths therein because the Jewish leaders added and subtracted from it.  Yahshua was destined to come and perfect it, and to make it honourable for us to keep and obey it (see Matthew Chapters 5, 6, and 7).  Isaiah foretold how Yahshua would come to magnify or perfect the Law: “…He will magnify the law, and make it honourable” (Isaiah 42:21).  Yahweh’s perfect Law of Liberty (i.e. Book of Covenant) was always placed inside the ARK of COVENANT and Israel carried the ARK and the LAW wherever they went because the LAW contains the SPIRIT and LIFE of YAHSHUA the ROCK that followed them (see John 6:63; 1 Corinthians 10:4; Exodus 23:20-23).  Yahweh instructed Moses to place the Book of Covenant (2 Tablets of Stones) and the Book of the Law inside the Ark. The Book of Covenant was placed at the middle of the Ark.  It contains the Ten Commandments – Law of Spirit, Law of Liberty or Royal Law:  “And I will write on the tablets (stones) the Words that were on the first tablets, which you broke; and you are to place them in the Ark” (Deuteronomy 10:2).  But the Book of the Law was placed by the side of the Ark: “Take this Book of the Law, and put it in the side of the Ark of the Covenant of Yahweh your Elohim, that it may be there for a WITNESS against thee” (Deuteronomy 31:26). The Book of the Law contains statutes, judgements, laws, ordinances, and priesthood sacrificial laws. Both are called COVENANT LAWS, and none of them was removed, except the priesthood law of sacrifice.  This law dealt with animal blood sacrifices. The Ark was built to shelter both Laws until Yahshua comes because the WORDS of the LAW were to be made FLESH in His Person.  In Yahshua the Covenant Law (Word) became FLESH and lived amongst us (John 1:1-2, 14).  The LAW was made perfect in Yahshua and the Ark ceased to exist on Earth.  The next place the Ark was revealed was in heaven.  John reported: “Then Yahweh’s temple in heaven was opened, and within His Temple was seen the Ark of His Covenant…” (Revelation 19:11).

I did not come to destroy the Law And the Prophet but to fulfil (Yahshua, Mt.5:17).

History of Easter

Religious and secular sources plainly show that many cherished traditions of today’s Easter celebration are not Scriptural in origin. In fact, they are a shocking departure from the teachings of Yahshua, the apostles and the first-century Assembly.

Pagan Society

They are borrowed from the pagan, polytheistic world, which the first-century Believers were called out of (1 Peter 2:9), were told to be separate from (2 Corinthians 6:17), and were to have no fellowship with (Ephesians 5:11).

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Master. Walk as children of light,” wrote the apostle Paul (Ephesians 5:8).

Concerning the moral state of the pagan society they were once part of, he said, “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather EXPOSE THEM” (verse 11)

Paul taught the Corinthians that there is no association between our worship of Yahweh and the worship of pagan idolatry.

For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Messiah with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of Elohim with idols? For you are the temple of the living Elohim

As Yahweh has said: “‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.’

Therefore ‘Come out from among them and be separate, says Yahweh. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you’” (2 Corinthians 6:14-17).

In 1 Corinthians 10:14 Paul wrote directly, “Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry” (emphasis added throughout).

It is hard to imagine that someone who is dedicated to fleeing from idolatry would continue to engage in traditions learned from the practice of idolatry!

"The most widely-practiced customs on Easter Sunday relate to the symbol of the rabbit (‘Easter bunny’) and the egg . . . A hare was a symbol associated with Eostre, representing the beginning of Springtime. Likewise, the egg has come to represent Spring, fertility, and renewal. In Germanic mythology, it is said that Ostara healed a wounded bird she found in the woods by changing it into a hare. Still partially a bird, the hare showed its gratitude to the goddess by laying eggs as gifts.

“The Encyclopedia Britannica clearly explains the pagan traditions associated with the egg: ‘The egg as a symbol of fertility and of renewed life goes back to the ancient Egyptians and Persians, who had also the custom of colouring and eating eggs during their spring festival.’ In ancient Egypt, an egg symbolised the sun, while for the Babylonians, the egg represents the hatching of the Venus Ishtar, who fell from heaven to the Euphrates” (Ancient-origins.net, “The Ancient Pagan Origins of Easter”).

Yahweh desires that we worship Him in “sincerity and truth” (Joshua 24:14; 1 Corinthians 5:8). If we are truly sincere in worshipping Him, we will want to worship Him in the way He has clearly instructed—not according to the traditions of men.

Straight to the Heart of Valentines Day

Every February 14 we see an “angelic” infant with a bow and arrow aiming for the heart of his “valentine.”

Cupids are everywhere with bows and arrows, heart shapes, paper lace, birds, and flowers. All these are associated with St. Valentine’s Day. But just where did these symbols and celebration of the 14th of February come from? Most of all, should we be celebrating this seemingly innocent day on which so many remember sweethearts and loves?

Halloween is an occultic observance

Halloween, or Samhain, is an occultic observance celebrated every year on October 31st by millions of children and their parents. The celebrants put on costumes and go “trick or treating”. Some see this as a fun time for all, others see this as a night of demonically inspired mayhem. Such activities may seem innocent, but they are definitely not.

They are a form of worship of the dark powers, and a true follower of Yahshua must never, ever participate in such activities, as plainly shown by the scriptures below:

      • Leviticus 19:26-31 – “Do not practice divination or sorcery . . . nor turn to mediums or and familiar spirits.”
      • Leviticus 20:6 – “I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and familiar spirits.”
      • Deuteronomy 18:10-12 – “Anyone who practices witchcraft, or sorcerery, or conjuring spells are an abomination.
      • Isaiah 8:19 – “When men tell you to consult mediums and familiar spirits, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their Elohim? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
      • Isaiah 47:13-14 – “Behold, the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them. They shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame.”
      • Jeremiah 10:2 – “Do not learn the way of the Gentiles . . .”
      • Ephesians 5:11 – “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

Historical Background

Halloween has almost completely pagan origins. It began as an ancient Irish and Scottish celebration of the change of seasons from fall to winter, a time to bring the animals out of the open fields and into the barns. It was the harvest festival of the Druids celebrated with the bonfires and the offering of sacrifices.

It was believed that the spirits of the dead would freely roam about on this day looking for bodies to indwell or possess. The invisible gates between heaven and earth would open, allowing those of the spirit realm to freely move between both realms. Superstitions were allayed by wearing costumes and making lots of noise. These behaviors were believed to scare the dead away.

The Catholic Church took over the Samhain celebration around the 5th century A.D., renaming it All Hallows Eve. It was meant to be a celebration honoring the saints. Part of the celebration involved going door-to-door asking for small cakes in payment for saying prayers for dead relatives.

The Objects Of Halloween

Costumes – The celebrants put on costumes and go “trick or treating”. Superstitions were allayed by wearing costumes and making lots of noise. These behaviors were believed to scare the dead away.
• Food – The treats or food were left at their doors for the visiting spirits. This was believed to appease the spirits so they would not destroy their homes, animals, or crops but simply pass on by.
• Eating Fruit – To the occultist, the eating of fruits, is symbolic of bringing life. (Note that the eating of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil resulted in death).
• Apples – To the occultist, the practice of bobbing for apples represents two pagan traditions: divination and the fertility ritual.
• Pumpkins – The carved pumpkin, or jack-o-lantern symbolizes the deal that a man named Jack made with Satan to keep himself out of hell at his death. Since Jack could go to neither heaven nor hell, he had no choice but to wander around the earth with a single candle placed inside a turnip to light his way. The hollowed out turnip later became the pumpkin.
• Black Cats – The black cat is believed to be reincarnated spirits who had prophetic abilities.

To Celebrate Or Not

Halloween has long been known as “The Festival of the Dead.” The ancient rituals today are still performed by those involved in witchcraft who continue to call the celebration “The Feast of Samhain.” It continues to be the major day on which witches attempt to communicate with the dead through various forms of divination. One of those practices is to learn the secrets of life and wisdom by lying on a grave and listening to the messages from familiar spirits, or by calling them up from out of the grave, all practices thoroughly forbidden by Yahweh in scripture (see 1 Samuel 28).

Taking part in Halloween celebrations can lead many to believe that true followers of Yeshua endorse the promotion of witches, witchcraft, familiar spirits, divination, spirit guides, the walking dead, and other occultic practices. Engaging in these practices, even such seemingly innocent practices as putting on costumes and gathering treats, can unwittingly open the door to the demonic. Satan and his demons are real beings set on our destruction and love an open door! Scripture firmly and unequivocally denounces these practices. Dabbling in the demonic can also invite Yahweh’s judgment. Instead, Paul commands us to “Put on the whole armor of Yahweh, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (see Ephesians 6:11-18).

Conformity

Psalm 4:3 – “But know that Yahweh has set apart for himself those who are godly . . .”
Hosea 2:13-17 – “I will punish her for the feast days of the other mighty ones, and take their names out of her mouth.”
Romans 12:2 – “Do not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, and acceptable and perfect will of Yahweh.”

Many will celebrate Halloween this year and continue to claim that this is a “Christian” thing to do. I’ll be blunt – How Dare You celebrate this day and continue to call yourself a true follower of Yahshua. Do not be fooled. I will be even more blunt – you cannot be conformed to the patterns of this world, you cannot partake in the satanically inspired pagan rituals that have been brought into the body, and still be holy, be set apart, be different from the non-believing masses. Doing so makes you a hypocrite, a whitewashed tomb (Matthew 23:27), and your witness has become tainted, corrupt, and ineffective. It is impossible for you to bring glory to our Sovereign and Savior!

Inappropriate Responses

Leviticus 19:26-31 – “Do not practice divination or sorcery . . . nor turn to mediums or and familiar spirits.”
Ephesians 5:11 – “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

Buy candy, lots of candy. Buy a pumpkin and carve it into a jack-o-lantern. Buy or make a costume, put it on, then go trick or treating. And all the better if the costume portrays a witch or wizard – make sure you carry a wand, too. Don’t forget to put a black cat in the window. All of these satanically inspired pagan practices are a stench in Yahweh’s nostrils and an abomination to his ears. Have nothing to do with them.

The Church of Satan Response

The Church of Satan sees Halloween as an opportunity for the average American to indulge in secret Satanist fantasies. In an interview given to Destiny Image in 1997, Anton LaVey, the founder of the Church of Satan said: “I am glad that Christian parents let their children worship the devil at least one night out of the year. We think because we are not performing any demonic rituals or human sacrifices that we are on safe ground,” he wrote. “But did you know that as soon as you dress up, whether you color yourself or put on a costume, the enemy owns you? Because by doing so, you have turned over your legal rights, and you have dedicated yourself and your kids to celebrating the devil’s holiday. You have just made a pact with the enemy, and you are already sacrificing your children spiritually by dressing them up and changing their identity.”

Conclusions

Ephesians 5:11 – “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather rebuke them.

The Bible unquestionably, unequivocally, and resolutely speaks disapprovingly about occultic practices, spirits, and witches; and condemns not only the practice of such things, but also the people who are involved in it. As true followers of Yahshua, we are to have nothing to do with the occult, and that includes participating in celebrations that have been brought into the assembly calendar in attempts to overwrite pagan agendas. The true follower of Yahshua neither willingly opens a door for Satan and his demons to walk through, nor provokes Yahweh’s judgment. The true follower of Yahshua knows this and avoids these occultic activities, not wishing for even their actions to cause others to stumble (see 1 Corinthians 8). I urge all true followers of Yahshua to refocus purely on Yahshua, to repent, and to purge themselves and their churches from the worldly, Satanically inspired, outside influences and from the incorporation of pagan practices into church sponsored celebrations. Yahweh has appointed seven moedim (dress rehearsals) – the church needs no others.

Final Thought

Deuteronomy 18:10 – “Let no one be found among you who consigns his son or daughter to the fire, or who is an astrologer, a soothsayer, a diviner, a sorcerer, one who casts spells, or one who consults ghosts or familiar spirits, or one who inquires of the dead.

The increasing popularity of Halloween is linked to a corresponding rise in paganism in the U.S., accompanied by an increasing mainstream interest in occult-related activities like astrology, tarot, and spell casting. How Dare You celebrate pagan rituals and continue to call yourself a follower of Yahshua. Instead, be transformed, renew your mind, do that which is good and acceptable and perfect so that your witness will bring glory to Abba Yahweh, Rabbi Yahshua, and the Ruach Ha’Kodesh.

Mother's Day is pagan goddess worship

Mother’s Day is pagan goddess worship! The scriptures tell us how to PROPERLY honor our mothers and fathers without taking part in pagan festival rituals like mother’s day and father’s day.

Social Norm

ginko_MothersDay.jpg

The social norm is to show love to our mothers by celebrating a man-made holiday called Mother’s Day.  This practice of celebrating Mother’s Day however is not based in any of the teachings of the Bible and in fact, directly disobeys the bible.  Yah instructs us to honor our mother and father on a daily basis; in fact, the 5th Commandment is the only commandment that is given with the promise of a longer life.   Exodus 20:12  Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which Yahweh thy Elohim giveth thee.

The practice of celebrating Mother’s Day breaks Yah’s commandments and shows honor, not to our mothers, but shows honor to a mythological deity.

The Scriptures tell us how to honor our mothers and celebrating Mother’s Day is NOT the WAY!

Ecclesiasticus 3:2,4,6,8-9,16 (Catholic Bible)

  • [2]For Yahweh hath given the father honour over the children, and hath confirmed the authority of the over the sons.
  • [4]And he that honoureth his mother is as one that layeth up treasure
  • [6]He that honoureth his father shall have a long life; and he that is obedient unto Yahweh shall be a comfort to his mother.
  • [8]Honour thy father and mother both in word and deed, that a blessing may come upon thee from them.
  • [9]For the blessing of the father establisheth the houses of children; but the curse of the  rooteth out foundations.
  • [16]He that forsaketh his father is as a blasphemer; and he that angereth his mother is cursed: of Elohim.

Ecclesiasticus 7:27 (Catholic Bible)

  • [27]Honour thy father with thy whole heart, and forget not the sorrows of thy mother.

Ecclesiasticus 23:14 (Catholic Bible)

  • [14]Remember thy father and thy mother, when thou sittest among great men. Be not forgetful before them, and so thou by thy custom become a fool, and wish that thou hadst not been born, and curse they day of thy nativity.

Exodus 21:15  And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

Leviticus 19:3  Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am Yahweh you Elohim

Proverbs 6:20  My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Proverbs 10:1  … A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

Proverbs 15:20  A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Proverbs 23:22  Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, nd despise not thy mother when she is old.

Father's Day is just as pagan as Mother's Day

Don’t honor your dad thru paganism. This day was created in honor of the pagan god [Cronus] that ate his own children.  Matthew 4:10 saysThen saith Yahshua unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship Yahweh thy Elohim, and him only shalt thou serve.

Mother's Day is NOT for your mother!!!

Every year, the media tells us that if we really love our mothers, we must honor them on one day of the year—Mother’s Day.  What the media doesn’t tell us though, is that Mother’s Day is NOT held in honor of our mothers. This goddess has been called by many names in many countries: Rhea, Gaia, Diana, Isis, Hera, etc. |  https://greece.greekreporter.com/2014/05/10/ancient-greek-roots-of-mothers-day/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_goddess

We must rebuke the unrighteous ways of man and mammon…those ways include NOT honoring pagan gods & goddesses thru pagan holidays like Mother’s Day! Judges 2:13 says  “And they forsook YAHWEH, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.” Other names attributed to Baal: Zeus, Uranus, and Cronus, etc.

Exodus 20:12  Honour thy father and thy mother:

that thy days may be long upon the land which Yahweh thy Elohim giveth thee.

Leviticus 19:3  Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am Yahweh you Elohim.

Proverbs 1:8  My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
Proverbs 4:3  For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
Proverbs 6:20  My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Proverbs 15:20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Proverbs 19:26  He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
Proverbs 20:20  Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
Proverbs 23:22  Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.

Proverbs 28:24  Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
Proverbs 29:15  The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
Proverbs 30:11  There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

Proverbs 30:17  The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
